The Lawrence Township Education Foundation and Lawrence Township Public Schools received a $24,437 grant from Bristol-Myers Squibb to provide equipment and workstations that would upgrade a lab into a technology center. The lab will be outfitted with a 3D printer and laser cutter, fume extractor, computers, cameras and work tables.
Replacing the existing outdated equipment will allow students to further their conceptual understanding and their ability to apply the skills needed to be successful in today’s world.
The equipment provided with this grant will benefit students studying AutoCAD, robotics and programming, drafting, applied engineering and inventions and innovation. Each of these courses will use the new equipment to apply the concepts learned in connection with the course curricula.
Bristol-Myers Squibb has long been a supporter of Lawrence schools, providing hands-on inquiry based STEM equipment for students at all levels.
