Lawrence family raises money for National Kidney Foundation The 7th Annual Central New Jersey Kidney Walk, held on June 1 at Arm & Hammer Park, raised over $65,000 for the National Kidney Foundation’s local awareness, prevention and treatment programs. Among the participants were the Johnston Family of Lawrenceville, who participated in the Kidney Walk to celebrate David Johnston, who received a kidney in 2012 from an anonymous donor. For two years in a row, the Johnston’s team, ‘Renal Me This, Renal Me That,’ was the highest fundraising team, raising over $5,700 this year and over $10,000 in the last two years. Among the many walkers who came and registered, many volunteered as well. Over 25 Rutgers pharmacy students decided to lend a helping hand to the walk by helping with registration, counting money and cheering walkers on along the route.
