Boy Scouts from Troop 28 collected food donations from customers of Pennington Quality Market on Feb. 2.

Troop 28 member David Horne, who is completing his service requirement for Life Rank, organized the food drive. The scouts collected $2,800 worth of food.

The scouts donated the food to HomeFront, an organization helping homeless families become self-sufficient.

Other scouts from Troop 28 who assisted in the drive include Aidan Kron, Matthew McChesney, Ryan Morris, Grant Gallagher, Kyle Jorgensen, Garrett Monfre, Mathew Molineros, Robert Hulbert, Ethan Morgan and Jonathan Molineros.

Troop 28 is open to boys who have completed fifth grade, and meets Friday nights from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Troop Hut at Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church.
