The Lawrenceville Radiology Affiliates Imaging center has doubled its size, undergoing a complete makeover to include a suite for women’s imaging, digital low dose X-ray and ultrasound, and new panels for visual therapy.

The RAI center re-opened its doors on Oct. 8 and held a grand opening on Oct. 14.

The Women’s Imaging Suite contains digital full-field mammography, bone densitometry and more. Not only is there new equipment, but each nook and cranny has been redesigned to create a homey environment similar to its counterpart at the Hamilton RAI office.

The interior decorating was part of Lawrence resident and RAI Administrator Ruth Hawthorne’s vision of what an imaging center should be. Hawthorne wanted to create a low stress environment to ease anxious patients. The waiting and changing rooms include dim lamps, wicker furniture, reclining chairs, paintings and accent pieces, and are laden with baskets and jars of goodies featuring snacks, candy, toys, pens and shirts.

“We focus on the patient,” said RAI medical director Dr. Eric Bosworth, of Robbinsville. “We’re very aware of the whole experience from scheduling to just being in the office; that’s important to us. Our philosophy is to basically pay attention to the details and to make sure that everybody’s happy.”

The center also uses the latest technology to make processing quicker and more easily accessible to doctors. For more information, go online to 4rai.com.
