Peter Yarrow of the famous folksinging group Peter, Paul & Mary is set to perform in Lawrenceville on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville located at 2688 Main Street.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the programs of Every Child Valued (ECV) and the Susan Bachus Scholarship Fund at the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Preschool (LPP).

LPP is a parent co-operative nursery school for children ages 2-5 years old. Since 1961, LPP has partnered with families in growing, happy well-rounded children. Every Child Valued is a nonprofit organization providing after school and summer enrichment programs to children residing in and surrounding the affordable housing community, Eggerts Crossing Village.

Peter Yarrow is the singer of classics including “Puff the Magic Dragon,” “If I Had a Hammer,” “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” and “This Land is Your Land.” Over the years, he is also known for his commitment to equal rights, peace, the environment, homelessness and education. He performed at the March on Washington in 1963 and the Selma- Montgomery March in 1965.

In 1999, Peter co-founded Operation Respect to promote the infusion of character education and social and emotional learning principles into school curricula. The organization disseminates educational resources that are designed to establish a climate that reduces the emotional and physical cruelty some children inflict upon each other by behaviors such as ridicule and bullying. Operation Respect has created a Don’t Laugh at Me Program, which has been distributed to over 180,000 educators since its inception, both nationally and internationally.

Tickets cost $20 for adults, $15 for teens and $10 for children and are available online at LPPRESCHOOL.com or by phone at LPP (609) 844-0022 or ECV (609) 883-0300.
