Early music ensemble to perform at Lawrence Library

The early music ensemble La Spirita is set to perform a free musical concert for voice and violas da gamba on May 29 at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Library.

The program will include Renaissance works for viola da gamba and voice interspred with Baroque composers such as Bach and Pachelbel. The group will also perform a contemporary piece inspired by Renaissance traditions.

La Spirita’s members are Lynn Fergusson, Patricia Hlafter, Judith Klotz, Mary Benton and Kathleen Spencer.

The viola da gamba is a Renaissance stringed instrument. The audience will have an opportunity to get a look at the instruments at the end of the performance.

The Lawrence Library is located at 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville.
