Composer Bruce Lazarus is set to debut his song cycle Going to the Dogs at a benefit recital for SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals.

Singing for SAVE also features Soprano Jennifer Winn, pianist Saffron Chung and a guest appearance by baritone John Anastasio of Ewing.

In addition to Lazarus’ Going to the Dogs, the program includes several other living composers all paying homage to the love of our non-human family members.

Lazarus’s “Going to the Dogs” is the second new work to be premiered by Winn in Princeton. She has portrayed the title role in the debut performance of Peter Westergaard’s chamber opera Alice in Wonderland at Richardson Auditorium in 2010.

The recital is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 10 at All Saints’ Church. 16 All Saints Road, Princeton.

There is a suggested donation of $20 for this event.

Proceeds are set to benefit SAVE of Princeton. Donations for this event can be made at the door or online at eventbrite.com — search Singing for SAVE.
