Donna Pressma, President of Children’s Home Society (CHS), received a check for $1,000 from Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer on Dec. 4 at the monthly Zonta Club meeting in Lawrenceville. The donation was given in memory of Meta Griffith, a former Board member of Children’s Home Society and past President and long time member of Zonta Club. Zonta members also donated approximately 100 pieces of clothing to the children served by Children’s Home Society. Carol Meta Stretch, grandniece of Meta Griffith, board of trustees member of CHSNJ, also attended and stood with Ms. Pressma at the presentation.

“Zonta Club members here in Trenton/Mercer are thrilled once again to donate these funds to The Children’s Home Society. With over 6,000 children being helped in 2013, we know that our funds are not only needed, they are essential.” said Mary Brandt, Co-President of Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer. “These funds and clothes further our mission of enhancing the status of women and children in our community. Doing it in honor of Meta Griffith has been a priority as well. Meta loved these children. ”

Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer is part of the international service club working to improve the legal, political, economic and health status of women and children. For more information on Zonta Club go to zontatrenton.org or call 851-0384.
