Asian, Irish and Italian heritage festivals set for Mercer County Park

Several heritage festivals are scheduled to take place at Mercer County Park in August, September and October.

Festivals include the Grand Indo-American Fair, Mercer Irish Fest, Italian American Festival and Mercer County Cultural Festival. Mercer County Park is located on Old Trenton Road in West Windsor.

The 11th Grand Indo-American Fair is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. This event celebrates cultures native to South Asia.

The festival features artists and performers, as well as vendors from showcasing Indian art, jewelry, traditional dress, paintings and brass work.

Admission is $2.

The Mercer Irish Fest is set to begin 10 a.m. on Sept. 7 and 8. The festival, sponsored by the Trenton Irish Heritage Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

The festival is set to include entertainment for all ages, vendors of Irish goods, cultural education and performances by local bands.

Admission is $5.

The 14th annual Italian American Festival of Mercer County is scheduled for Sept. 27, 28 and 29. The three-day extravaganza is organized by the Mercer County Italian-American Festival Association.

Along with Italian food vendors and a market, the festival features a bocce area, cultural theater, folk dancers and singers, big band music, opera, amusement rides and a fireworks display.

The festival also has a heritage pavilion with more than 200 displays of memorabilia of famous Italian-Americans and other Italian products.

Festival hours are 3 to 10 p.m. on Sept. 27, 12 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 28, and 12 to 9:30 p.m on Sept. 29.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and free for children 12 and under.

The festival season is set to end with the annual Mercer County Cultural Festival 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 12.

The event is set to celebrate diverse cultures through traditional food, live music and dance performances, and will also feature artists exploring their heritage through art and crafts.
