Young Audiences holds Mad Hot Ballroom gala

On April 5, Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania, held a black tie gala, Dazzle: Mad Hot Ballroom II, Strictly Latin at the Princeton Hyatt.

The benefit included a dance competition a la Dancing with the Stars where VIP dancers were paired with professional dancers and guests voted for their favorite dance couple, a performance from one of Young Audience’s Sandy Relief schools, an auction and a raffle.

The event raised over $200,000 including $35,000 for ArtCorps, a teen work readiness program.

The four local VIP dancers paired with Young Audiences artists were Lambertville’s Barbara Coe, Princeton’s Jill Jachera, Pennington’s Chris Long and Bobby Mascia. Coe and her partner Marck “Flaco” Best won the competition with their salsa routine.

Next year’s gala will take place on April 11, 2015.
