VolunteerConnect awarded Eleanor Horne, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and the Princeton Area Community Foundation for the impact award for their dedication to volunteerism.

The Impact Award recognizes individuals, corporations or community organizations that have made significant contributions toward volunteerism in greater Mercer County.

The three recipients were recognized at a cocktail reception Oct. 2 at the Grounds for Sculpture.

Senator Turner, Assemblyman Gusciora and Assemblywoman Watson Coleman gave VolunteerConnect and the award recipients a Joint Legislative Resolution for their efforts in support of volunteerism in the state.

The evening was highlighted by a tribute to VolunteerConnect’s skills-based volunteers and by an inspirational speech by award recipient, Eleanor Horne. Her speech was followed by a standing ovation from the crowd of over 160 attendees.

VolunteerConnect is a nonprofit that matches highly skilled professionals with short term impact projects for charitable organizations such as, The Boys and Girls Club of Trenton, Dress for Success of Mercer County and Habitat for Humanity of Trenton and Isles. Projects in areas such as communications, finance, marketing, research and strategic planning support nonprofits that do not have the resources to get critical projects completed.
