Two Mercer County school districts named top 5 in state

Mercer County is home to two of the five best school districts in the State of New Jersey, according to

a Niche ranking

.

Princeton Public Schools took the No. 2 spot, followed closely by the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District at No. 3.

The Hopewell Valley Regional School District also ranked high, landing at No. 16.

The ranking is based on Niche’s analysis of “key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education,” according to their website. The website included factors such as state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality and public school district ratings into their ranking.

Niche gathers and analyzes data on colleges, schools, neighborhoods and companies within the United States. According to their website, “Niche does rigorous cleaning and analysis on large data sets, and combines them with feedback from our community for nuanced insight…”Two other Mercer County districts were listed in the top 100, with Robbinsville Public Schools coming in at No. 47 and Lawrence Township Public Schools ranking as the 50th best district in the state.For the full ranking of New Jersey school districts, visit
