Strawberry Shortcake Festival to be held at Woosamonsa Schoolhouse

The Woosamonsa Schoolhouse. The trustees of the Woosamonsa Schoolhouse are set to hold its annual Father’s Day Strawberry Shortcake Festival on June 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets for a large serving of strawberry shortcake with ice cream are $5. Children six and under are free. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Jack’s Greenhouse and Farm or at the door. Entertainment will be provided by the local folk duo, Fiddlesticks. Strawberry Socials are a longstanding tradition at the Woosamonsa Schoolhouse dating back to before the Great Depression. The Woosamonsa Schoolhouse was built in 1875 and is the oldest surviving school building in Pennington. All of the proceeds from the festival will help raise funds for the upkeep of the historic property. Jack’s Greenhouse and Farm is located at 10 Woosamonsa Road, Pennington. The schoolhouse is located at the intersection of Woosamonsa and Poor Farm Road, off Route 31 in Hopewell Township.
