East Amwell historian Jim Davidson will be in Hopewell on Wednesday, Sept. 13 and Wednesday, Oct. 4 with a two-part talk covering the life and times of Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
Each talk will be held at the newly reopened Hopewell Theater at 7 p.m. as part of the Hopewell Public Library’s Wednesday Night Out series. The series is free and open to the public.
In part one, Davidson plans to chronicle the early life of Charles Lindbergh and his epic flight across the Atlantic Ocean in May 1927. He will also talk about Anne Morrow’s early life and writing career as well as the couple’s courtship, marriage, move to the Sourlands and the fateful kidnapping of Charles Jr. in 1932.
In part two, Davidson will start with the search for the Lindbergh baby and the “Trial of the Century” in Flemington and go on to cover the rest of the Lindberghs’ storied lives from there.
The Hopewell Theater is at 5 S. Greenwood Ave. in Hopewell borough. The Hopewell Public Library’s Wednesday Night Out lecture series is usually held at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at the Hopewell Train Station. Speakers include local authors, environmentalists, artists and other experts.
