July is Sustainability Month at Pennington Farmers Market

The Pennington Farmers Market — green-focused, kid-friendly and alive with the sound of music — moves into July with “Sustainability Month.”

In addition to weekly offerings including organic produce, cheese, grass-fed beef and lamb, seasonal soups, desserts, tea and readings, and local wine, several special events are scheduled for throughout the month.

Jazz musician Mark Bodino is set to perform July 5, while the Green Team Game Wheel demonstrates 12 ways to live more sustainably.

July 12 festivities includes representatives from the N.J. Clean Energy Program and Home Energy Audits, with music by Larry and Guy.

Across the Street is set to play folk and blues July 19, while shoppers pick up nominally priced, reusable snack bags and produce bags.

On July 26,

Jeff Griesemer and his mandolin are set to entertain visitors during the market’s monthly Recycling Day, offering a recycling game and the opportunity to recycle #5 plastics, used CDs, wine bottle corks, and Styrofoam egg cartons.

The Pennington Farmers Market is located at 101 Route 31, North, on the lawn in front of Rosedale Mills.
