Stonybrook Golf Club is set to host a golf tournament to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Rally for the Cure Two-Person Scramble Ladies Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 9 at the Hopewell golf course.

Rally for the Cure is a grassroots program created to empower people to take action in the fight against breast cancer by educating women about the disease and reminding them to get their annual breast cancer screening through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events.

More than 2 million people have participated in Rally events across the nation since its inception in 1996. This year marks the second year Stonybrook Golf Club has rallied against breast cancer.

The day’s activities include registration at 8 a.m.with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. A luncheon, awards and raffle will take place immediately following the golf event. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of the event and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information as well as other Rally and golf items.

The cost is $70 per golfer, which includes a $20 donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
