Hopewell Valley Historical Society to host “Great Graves” program Oct. 20

The Hopewell Valley Historical Society will host author/historian Peter Osborne and his program “Great Graves” on Monday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

This illustrated presentation will explore styles of graveyard and cemetery art from the 1700s to present day using examples from cemeteries throughout the Delaware Valley region. Audience members will receive handouts related to cemeteries, epitaphs, and preservation methods.

The program will be held at the Pennington Presbyterian Church, Heritage Hall, 13 South Main Street, Pennington.

Founded in 1975, the Hopewell Valley Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and interpreting local history through the protection of historical artifacts and sites, sponsorship of educational programs and dissemination of an award-winning newsletter.
