Hopewell Senior Services to offer book club, knitting group

Hopewell Valley Senior Services is set to offer book and knitting group meetings, as well as a luncheon, in May.

The Hopewell Valley Senior Book Group is scheduled to meet 1 to 2:30 p.m. May 12 at the Hopewell Valley Senior Center, 395 Reading St., Pennington.

Diane Miller of Mercer County Library plans to lead a discussion of Nancy Horen’s Under the Wide and Starry Sky. The book is available at the Hopewell Branch of the Mercer County Library.

The knitting and crocheting group is scheduled to meet 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. May 14 and 28 at the Hopewell Valley Senior Center.

During meetings, knitters and crocheters talk about projects and share skills and tips. Participants should being their own projects, patterns and materials.

A free senior luncheon is scheduled for 13:20 p.m. at Hopewell Valley Central High School, 259 Pennington-Titusville Road, Pennington. Lunch is followed by a performance by the Timberlane and CHS jazz bands.
