The Hopewell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is set to hold a Historic Hopewell throw blanket sale on December 6, 7 and 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. The blankets will be on sale at the Hopewell Firehouse, located at 4 Columbia Avenue in Hopewell, at the Present Drop Off nights.

The organization’s second Historic Hopewell Throw Blanket, which contains different historic sites than the first version from almost 20 years ago, measures 48 x 68 inches, is machine washable and made in the USA. It is available in a choice of four colors on a natural background: Cranberry, Hunter Green, Duke Blue and Black, and includes a brief history of each of the historical sites shown on the blanket.

The Hopewell Fire Dept has been an all volunteer organization for 104 years. The primary function of the Ladies Auxiliary is to support the Fire Dept. not only during emergency situations, but financially assisting them by purchasing equipment and training materials which are not covered by Fire Tax or other funding. The purpose of the fundraiser is to raise money for the renovation and restoration of the firehouse which was purchased from the Borough in 2012.

The cost of the throw blanket is $40 each. To purchase, email hopewellblanket@gmail.com, visit hopewellfire.com, or call Mary Anne Van Doren at (609) 466-3060.
