Hamilton United U17 wins flight finals

Hamilton United U17B team of the Hamilton Soccer Club finished first in their flight in June.

The team won the finals of the US Club State Cup Consolation Group against the TBAA Cobras of Blackwood on June 23. The score was 6-1.

Shiekh Bangura and Alfonso Swaray scored two goals each, while Arinze Iloka added one and Brandon Barboza converted a PK.

Defensemen Ara Phat, Luis Villegas, Meherab Schroff, Joseph Baldasari and Keeper Nolan Kopec held TBAA to 1 goal.

On their way to the finals, Hamilton United defeated Princeton SA Premier White 4-1, Greater Flemington Fury 4-1 and Newark team Ironbound Mustangs 3-1.

Hamilton United play in the first flight of both MAPS CJYSA and MAPS US Club divisions this season. The team finished first and second, respectively.

Team members attend school at Steinert, Nottingham, Hamilton, Life Center Academy, Pennington Prep, Allentown High and Trenton Central.
