D & R Greenway to host family walk and picnic July 8

D & R Greenway is set to host a family picnic and walk on July 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Explore the Stony Brook at Greenway Meadows Park with a walk and picnic at D&R Greenway Land Trust’s Johnson Education Center, July 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Rain date July 9.

Guests are welcome to bring picnics to King Terrace outside the barn at 5:30 p.m. D&R Greenway will provide beverages and dessert for this annual family event.

The walk, led by Jeff Hoagland, Education Director of the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association, will begin after a lively informative talk at 6:30 p.m. Participants will search for and learn about creatures living in the stream, dependent upon healthy water. Water shoes/boots are recommended for wading.
