Collection for Sandy victims Jan. 27

Calvary Baptist Church is collecting items for Hurricane Sandy Recovery.

The church said they will prepare kitchen and bathroom recovery kits Jan. 27 9:45 to 10:45 a.m at 3 East Broad Street, Hopewell.

The church asks volunteers to donate new bathroom and kitchen items.

Kitchen items requested are sets of glassware, plates, bowls and flatware, pots and pans, mixing bowls, measuring spoons, cups, cutting boards, dish towels and a two-slice toaster.

The church said each bathroom kit needs six towels, two wash cloths, beauty and hair care products, bath supplies, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, tissues and a toilet brush.

The church said donors can contribute a complete kit or individual items.

The church is also preparing for its annual rummage sale set for May 30 through June 1.

The church said it will begin picking up furniture for the sale starting March 1. Other items can be donated starting May 21.

The church said they are accepting donations of clothing in good condition, books, jewelry, toys and games, household items and small appliances and tools.
