Washington Crossing Audubon Society has three events planned for January.

A public birding trip for winter birds at Barnegate Light is set for Jan. 5. The Aubudon Society said the inlet, beach, and jetties are well known for unusual avian visitors, including the harlequin duck. The group is set to meet at the Mariana, Route 35 in Belmar at 9 a.m. The society suggests bringing lunch and beverage and dress warmly.

A birding trip at Roebling Park is set for Jan. 12. The society plans to follow trails and observe how the marsh and its wildlife adjust to the cold weather. This event is cosponsored by Friends for the Hamilton-Trenton-Bordentown Marsh. The group is set to meet 10 a.m. at the Gateway to the Hamilton/Trenton Marsh.

A presentation by Conserve Wildlife Foundation herpetologist Karena DiLeo is set for 8 p.m. Jan. 21. The society said the talk will focus on work to protect rare and endangered species of amphibians and reptiles in New Jersey, including the turtle and Pine Barrens tree frog.

The presentation is set to take place at Stainton Hall on the campus of the Pennington School, 112 W. Delaware Ave., Pennington. Refreshments are served at 7:30 p.m.
