Soropimist to host pasta fundraiser March 10

Soroptimist International of Trenton’s Pasta Fundraiser is set for March 10.

The fundraiser is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Road, Ewing.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $6 for children under 10 years old and free for children under three years old. Tickets and take-out are available at the door.

Soroptimist is an international organization for women. Members aim to improve the lives of women and girls in their community and across the globe.

The Trenton branch, chartered in 1972, provides financial support to local charities like Mobile Meals, Children’s Home Society, Project Freedom, Homefront, Rescue Mission and Mentor Powers.new bullet proof vests to female police officers andhome furnishings to Homefront Preservation Center.

SIT member Joy Ribsam said proceeds from the pasta fundraiser will benefit Youth Citizenship and Women’s Opportunity awards.

The Women’s Opportunity Award provides cash grants for women seeking to improve their economic situations through additional education and training. In the past SIT has awarded it to women reentering the workforce who need financial assistance to further their education or credentials.

The Youth Citizenship Award is a scholarship given to a local youth who exemplifies the principals of organization.
