On Thursday, April 16 Robbinsville’s business and civic leaders were treated to a light show, a delicious buffet dinner, and an evening of networking with a charitable twist at the Robbinsville Economic Development Advisory Committee’s (EDAC) Spring Event. More than 75 attendees filled the newly-renovated Amarone’s Italian restaurant on Church Street in Windsor for an evening that carried the banner of Robbinsville’s “Pay it Forward” movement.

Chris Dalagelis, owner of Darkness Eliminators, a Windsor-based event lighting company, set the mood for the evening with a dazzling light display. Robbinsville Mayor Dave Fried, State Assemblyman Dan Benson, and members of the Robbinsville Township Council came out to show their support for Robbinsville’s small business community. Levester Shepherd, father of Trey Shepherd, also attended and thanked the business community for their outpouring of support at the 2015 State of Robbinsville Township address.

The guest of honor for the evening was Trisha Danze, founder and President of the Robbinsville-based Thea’s Star of Hope, a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of children with brain tumors. Trisha spoke passionately about her experience with raising a daughter who lives with a brain tumor, and her journey in founding and growing an organization she hopes will contribute $300,000 to fund a clinical trial at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

The EDAC is looking forward to playing a big role at the Robbinsville Community Day celebration on June 13th. This year, the committee will host the popular “Prize Alley” business area and is currently selling booth spaces on a first-come-first-serve basis. To reserve a space at the festival, contact Township Councilwoman Sheree McGowan at 609-918-0002 or e-mail council@robbinsville-twp.org.
