Two local firms have merged to create a comprehensive and holistic approach to elder care and crisis management, incorporating both legal and practical solutions. Archer Law Office, LLC, an elder law firm based out of Hamilton and serving central New Jersey, will acquire the Senior Living Services division of AFI Coaching and Consulting, LLC effective October 1, 2015.

The new firm will continue to be known as Archer Law Office, LLC. The President of AFI, Thomas P. Callahan, will join Archer Law as its Director of Senior Living Resources.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Aging, the population 65 years or older in the U.S. numbered 41.4 million in 2011, or 13.3% of the U.S. population, over one in every eight Americans. The number of older Americans increased by 18% since 2000, compared to an increase of 9.4% for the under-65 population. With the exploding senior population has come a need for professionals to handle crisis management for seniors and their caregivers. This need is not limited to legal concerns– there are practical everyday issues, such as medication management and accommodations in a home, which can monopolize a caregiver’s time and attention.
