Kisthardt Elementary hosts ‘heavyweight champion of science’ Grand Hank

Students and families at Kisthardt Elementary School welcomed Grand Hank, the “Heavyweight Champion of Science” to their school on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The evening event began with dinner for all attendees followed by an energetic program of science, music and entertainment.

Hank, award-winning Master Scientist Tyraine Ragsdale, sought to inspire the students with his personal story of overcoming obstacles to achieve a higher education, along with interactive activities for students and their parents.

The program was provided for by Title 1 funds, which are available to Kisthardt Elementary School and five other schools in the Hamilton district that serve a population with demonstrated socioeconomic need.
