Jim Hegedus Memorial 5K set for June 15

The eighth annual Jim Hegedus Memorial 5K Run is set for June 15.

The race in memory of Steinert High School’s cross county and track captain Jim Hegedus, who graduated in 2002. He also ran for the University of Maine. Hegedus died in May 2006 due to injuries sustained in a car crash.

The run is scheduled to being at 10 a.m., with check-in at 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at Veterans Park’s gazebo near the volleyball courts, 2206 Kuser Road, Hamilton.

The course is entirely paved. Water stops are at the halfway point.

Medals are set to be awarded to top three male and female runners in each age group.

Pre-entries must be received by June 1 and guaranty a Jim Hegedus Memorial Run T-shirt. Race day entrant will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.

Early entry fee is $18. The day-of-race fee is $20.
