Jim Hegedus Memorial 5K set for June 14

The annual Jim Hegedus Memorial 5K Run set to return in June.

The run is held in honor of Steinert High School graduate and marathon runner Jim Hegedus, who died in a car accident in 2006.

Proceeds from the event are set to support scholarships for one male and one female runner at Steinert High School, along with a donation to the Mercer County Sunshine Foundation.

Jim Hegedus Memorial 5K is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 14 at Veterans Park, 2206 Kuser Road, Hamilton.

The run is a USA Track & Field sanctioned race. Walkers are also welcome.

Registration is $18 in advance in $20 on race day.
