Investors Bank donated a $50,000 grant to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton to sponsor the expansion of its pediatric emergency unit.

The H.H. Tuchman Pediatric Emergency Center, which opened a year-and-a-half ago, provides a remote area for the treatment of children and young adults up to age 21. The unit currently has a nursing station and eight patient rooms, each equipped with a private setting where the child’s family can wait comfortably.

This grant will help fund a separate entrance and more rooms to accommodate a greater number of patients.

RWJ University Hospital Hamilton applied for the grant from the Investors Foundation, which supports non-profit organizations that enhance the lives of residents in the diverse communities served by Investors Bank.

“We are very grateful for the generous gift from Investors Bank for the H. H. Tuchman Pediatric Emergency Center,” said Richard Freeman, President and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton. “With eight treatment suites designed just for children, this gift will allow easy access to emergency services to the youngest members of our community who are either sick or injured.”
