HomeFront’s Back to School drive provides needed school supplies and new clothes for that all-important first day of school for local children in need.

Each year, HomeFront’s Back to School program provides new clothing, including a new pair of sneakers, backpack and school supplies to more than 1,100 children from local low-income families for their first day of school. This happy tradition, which started at HomeFront 24 years ago, ensures that a child in need in this community is still able to start school off on the right foot.

For many of the families that support the Back to School drive, the parents and their children shop together to pick out the needed items. A backpack for most of us is a pretty small expenditure and very routine for most parents, but for HomeFront families, a new backpack filled with clothes and supplies is a very big deal.

This year, HomeFront is in special need of school uniforms and gift cards.

If you, your company, congregations or club would like to participate in HomeFront’s Back to School program, call (609) 989-9417 ext. 133 or email homefront@homefrontnj.org to request shopping information for one or more children.

Drop off for distribution is by August 17, 2015. Donations can be made by mail or by visiting homefrontnj.org.
