The RWJUH Hamilton Young Professionals Group recently honored its former chairwoman, Rachel Holland, as the Young Professional of the Year for her outstanding service and fundraising efforts for the hospital.

Holland, a Hamilton resident, received the honor at the group’s annual All in Good Taste event, which raised $60,000 for the hospital’s ongoing Cancer Center expansion and renovation projects. The event’s success was due in large part to Rachel’s involvement with the Hamilton business community.

Holland, who has been active in the Young Professionals Group for years, is the owner of Rachel Holland Special Events and Consulting. She is on the board of directors of Hamilton Area YMCA, Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, and Lakeview Child Center.

Prior to starting her own business, Holland worked in the governor’s office as advance director, coordinating Gov. Jim McGreevey’s daily events, before moving to NJ Transit as the Corporate Events Director. She also chaired the non-profit Consumers for Cable Choice in New Jersey, which ushered in statewide franchising for television companies, creating competition, investment, and jobs.

Holland has been active in the Hamilton Democratic Club, the Mid Jersey Chamber of Commerce and Shop Hamilton Group (previously Biz 33 Business Group). She is married to Kevin Drennan, and they have two daughters, Eva and Jacqueline.
