As part of Y Cares Week, the Hamilton Area YMCA Volunteer Committee is accepting nominations for its “Grass Roots” program.

The Grass Roots program is dedicated to helping members of the community with outdoor needs that they are unable to perform due to physical, mental or financial constraints. Volunteers are able to assist with mowing, weed whacking, planting new flowers, and other related duties.

The committee is accepting nominations for families and individuals in need of landscaping assistance during Y Cares Week, July 28 to Aug. 1.

To nominate a friend, family member or neighbor for the Grass Roots program, email volunteer@hamiltonymca.org with information about the nominee and why they would benefit from the program.

The committee plans to accept five nominees.

For more information, call Kailin Rockhill at (609) 581-9622, extension 140.
