Hamilton pizzerias to put pies to the test

The Holy Angels and Saint Raphael Alumni Association are set to host the first Pizzeria Showdown contest.

Local restaurants will gather at the Saint Raphael Holy Angels Parish Center to show off their most popular pizza and offer tastings to guests. Baked goods and non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided.

The two top honors will be awarded by voting attendees. They will be named the “Grand Pizza Champion” and the “Pizzaiolo (Pizza Chef)”.

The Showdown is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Saint Raphael Holy Angels Parish Center, 3500 South Broad St., Hamilton.

Tickets are $10 per adult, $6 for children age six to 11, and free for children age five and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event.

Proceeds support student awards for Saint Raphael School graduating eighth grade students.
