Kelly Yaede’s accomplishments as Hamilton’s first female mayor have earned her a spot on New York Moves Magazine‘s list of powerful local female leaders.

For the first time, New York Moves Magazine acknowledged the contributions of female mayors who have the “courage to take responsibility for their communities” and whose commitments to those they serve often go unrecognized.

As part of her letter to inform Yaede of her inclusion in the list, Moves Magazine publisher Moonah Ellison said Yaede’s dedication and drive brought the mayor’s name to their short list, and Yaede’s impact makes her an outstanding choice. Ellison said all the mayors on the list were “strong, savvy, exceptional women.”

“As our community’s first female mayor, I understand what an important message it sends to the girls and young women of our town,” Yaede said in a statement. “I am truly honored and humbled to have been selected to be featured as part of this list, which seeks to pay tribute to the many female mayors who lead their respective communities.”

The magazine edition listing Yaede hit newsstands in late October. Yaede was invited to attend the publication’s Power Women Gala this month.
