A Hamilton man was arrested this morning and charged with robbery for allegedly trying to rob a bank in Trenton.
James Smith, 22, was arrested on Nov. 2 and taken into custody without incident from a hotel room on the 100 block of Route 130 in Bordentown, according to a statement from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s statement also said Smith’s arrest stems from an attempted bank robbery that occurred on Oct. 31 at a bank on the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue in Trenton.
Smith was turned over to the Trenton Police Department, and is pending a court appearance. No further details were immediately provided by police.
