The 7th Annual Alfred G. Doan Jr. Memorial Golf Outing is set for Aug. 5 at Old York Country Club.

The outing supports the Alfred G. Doan Memorial Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating Nottingham High School athletes who are set to attend two or four year college.

The best ball scramble format is held in memory of Al Doan Jr., a Nottingham football player and coach who was passed away from ayplastic anemia on July 29, 2006.

To date, the fund, a 501(c)3 non profit entity, has awarded more than $22,000 to graduating Nottingham seniors.

Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, longest and straightest drive and the top three finishing foursomes. There is also a hole-in-one prize of $25,000 available.

The event includes a tricky tray table with autographed sports memorabilia, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

Registration is set to begin at 10 a.m., with a shot gun start at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets are $125 and include a round of golf with a cart, lunch and an awards dinner.

Individual and business sponsorships are available.
