A Trenton man has been arrested for an April shooting in the city that killed a man and injured a woman.

Naquan Green, 37, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, said Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey reported.

He was arrested on April 28, in Ewing, by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Green pending trial.

At approximately 4:14 a.m. on April 19, Trenton police were in the area of 300 East State Street and heard multiple gunshots. Patrol units were also dispatched to a ShotSpotter activation for multiple rounds.

Police responded to the 200 block of East State Street and discovered two adults, a male and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where Marquis Skillman, 38, of Trenton, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The 39-year-old woman suffered a non-life threatening gunshot to her leg.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact MCHTF Detective Ryan Minnick at (609) 273-7293 or Sgt. Will Jett at (609) 331-5010.
