The summer is in full swing — warm weather abides, and pizza lovers can enjoy both the sun and their favorite food at King’s Pizzarama.

Brothers and co-owners Aldo and Rafael Mayorga recently installed a patio with outside seating to accommodate more customers at the restaurant.

“They can come in the summertime, enjoy outside and eat the best pizza in town,” Aldo said.

The patio has proved to be a popular feature, Aldo said, and many people have eaten there already. Many of their customers order delivery or take-out, and the patio is part of an effort to get more customers to eat at the restaurant.

Part of the King’s Pizzarama experience for the next few weeks will be the World Cup. The brothers are big sports fans, and they have invited to people to catch some games with them.

For the record, Rafael is rooting for Spain and Aldo is rooting for Brazil.

Their love for sports applies to local competition as well. King’s Pizzarama offers a discount on a large pizza for any athletes who come in wearing their uniforms.

The Mayorga brothers have run King’s Pizzarama for the past six years of its 30-year existence. They have been working in the pizza business for 20 years after emigrating from Guatemala.

The two enjoy the work, and the customers, and that enjoyment is what has kept them in the business so long.

“We like the work,” Aldo said. “We never take off. We like to work for the customers.”

The Mayorgas have been in the pizza business for 20 years, after a friend got them into it.. And when King’s Pizzarama came up for sale, jumped at the chance to apply that experience to their own business.

“We know how to do the job exactly,” Aldo said.

They also found a customer base they enjoy serving in Ewing.

“We like all the people here,” Aldo said. “Everybody’s friendly.”

Over their two decades in the business, the brothers have developed their own way of making the pizza. But don’t bother asking them what that way is — they won’t tell. Whatever their method is, Aldo says it makes their pies the best around.

One of their most popular dishes is their buffalo chicken pizza. But that’s not all customers come for.

Some the other popular choices are the selection of wraps, especially the chicken caesar wrap, the grilled chicken salad and the buffalo chicken salad.

Aldo and Rafael live in Hamilton. They are each married, with two kids apiece.

King’s Pizzarama is located at 200 Ewingville Road. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (609) 882-3042.
