Seven firefighters in Ewing Township have officially completed their probationary period, marking a significant milestone for the local fire department.

During a ceremony held recently, Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann, Ewing Fire Director Marc Strauss, and Trenton Fire Director Kenneth Douglas awarded black helmet fronts to the firefighters, symbolizing their transition to full-fledged firefighters.

The firefighters, hired in 2024, include Dade Rudzitis, DeAndre Santos, Franklin Armstrong, Elizabeth Budge, William Person III, Nykai Rambharan, and William Sotovando.

With the completion of their probation, they are now fully integrated into the department and prepared to serve the community in greater capacities.

“The hiring of these firefighters has greatly improved our response capabilities and expanded our staffing to better protect the public,” said a township news release.

The additional staff strengthens Ewing’s ability to respond to emergencies efficiently and ensures enhanced public safety throughout the township.
