Ewing Township Sustainable Green Team is set to launch a series of community visioning events titled A Community Conversation: Preserving Our Past, Transforming Our Future.

The first Community Conversation event is scheduled for June 7.

The Ewing Green Team was established in 2009 under the auspices of the Environmental Commission with a mission of promoting best environmental practices, saving money and taking steps to sustain the community’s quality of life.

To this end, the Green Team has already undertaken a number of initiatives including educational outreach events, promotion of the community gardens, and performing energy and safety audits in township buildings.

Sustainable Jersey and PSE&G recently awarded the Green Team a $10,000 grant to explore further areas of opportunity within the community to promote sustainability and to increase organizational capacity.

With the help of a professional consulting firm, Maga Sustainability, the Green Team will be inviting a diverse group of residents, business professionals and government officials to participate in creating a vision to address the current and future needs of the community.
