The EASEL Animal Rescue League is highlighting two pets for their Rescue of the Month.

Archie

Archie is a small dog who is friendly with people. He is reactive to other dogs and needs to be an only pet. He was adopted back in May 2017, but his adopter is having problems controlling his behavior. His owner is looking to rehome him. Archie has bonded with his adopter and is calm when they are alone.

He has learned some commands, but needs treats to do them. He is completely housebroken and walks well on a leash. He enjoys car rides, has no issues being handled, and allows people to take food and toys away from him.

Archie doesn’t get along with other dogs, and is highly excitable with new people, jumping on them and barking. He would not be good around small children. He could use a securely fenced yard as he loves to run, but is an escape artist. He likes to chew, so having toys around is important. We think that an adult household would be best for him since he is so calm and affectionate in the house. Ideally a fenced yard and someone who is home a lot.

Lark

Lark is a very sweet boy that, when not playing and running about with his sister at the shelter, is content to sit inside a circular bed and cuddle down. A little shy, when he finally settles into being pet, he can’t get enough. Lark would do best with other animals in the house, and if you’re in the market for two cats, his sister Inka would be best.

The EASEL trailer and Ewing Animal Shelter are located at 2 Jake Garzio Drive in Ewing. The EASEL Animal Shelter is open for adoptions everyday 12 to 3 p.m. The trailer is open for adoptions Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday nights from 5 to 7 p.m.
