A house fire early Wednesday morning claimed the life of an adult resident on Bernard Drive, according to the Ewing Township Police Department.

The fire was reported around 5:16 a.m. on Nov. 13, when Ewing Police officers responded to the scene and observed flames engulfing the residence.

Officers attempted to enter the home but were forced back due to the intense fire conditions.

Once the fire was out, investigators discovered a single adult victim inside, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending official identification by the medical examiner.
