CYO of Mercer County names new board member

The Catholic Youth Organization of Mercer County appointed Edward Petranto as a new member of the board of trustee.

Petranto has a long, distinguished career working as the Bursar at the College of New Jersey. Among other professional accomplishments, Petranto was the founder and president of the N.J. Bursar’s Association.

Her was a member of the last class of Trenton Catholic Boy’s High School, then went on to receive degrees from Seton Hall University and Trenton State College, now known as TCNJ.

As a youth, Petranto was a star CYO basketball player on the mighty St. James (North Trenton) teams.

The remaining CYO board members are president Most Rev. David O`Connell, Sister Joanne Dress, chairman Arthur Caola, vice chair Donna Davidson, Rev. Dennis Apoldite, Kathie Soss Prihoda, Lt. Ed Gonzalez Jr., Tom Griffith, Scott Krasny, Louis Bruni and Maurice Whetstone.

CYO has been serving Mercer County youth for more than 60 years at their Trenton, Hamilton and Ewing facilities.
