Congo benefit concert set for Sept 20

The Songs for Congo benefit concert on September 20 is set to feature jazz artist Karrin Allyson.

The College of New Jersey is set to host Songs for Congo, “Chansons pour le Congo III,” a benefit concert on Sunday, September 20 at 3 p.m. The concert and reception will be held at the Mildred & Ernest E. Mayo Concert Hall located at 2000, Pennington Road in Ewing.

The event will feature jazz artist and four-time Grammy nominee Karrin Allyson accompanied by a bass guitarist. The concert will benefit two Congo-based charities- Woman, Cradle of Abundance and the United Front Against Riverblindness (UFAR).

Tickets are $70, $80 at the door and are available at WomanCradleofAbundance.org or riverblindness.org. Student tickets are $35 and $40. For information, call (609) 688-9979.
