Area students take home awards at annual Creativity Fair

More than 250 attendees browsed the exhibits at the 22nd annual Creativity Fair at Trenton Catholic Academy April 8.

Every year, student members of the Monsignor McCorristin Chapter of the National Honor Society organize and run the event, including the awards presentation ceremony.

Students in fifth through eighth grades from six area parochial schools submitted in excess of 150 projects for consideration. Project categories include art, sculpture, historical dioramas, children’s books, poetry, building design, insect models and religious banners.

TCA Upper School faculty determines the winners through blind judging.

Along with TCA, the five other schools that participated in the Creativity Fair were Our Lady of Sorrows/St. Anthony (Hamilton), St. Raphael (Hamilton), St. Paul (Princeton), St. Paul (Burlington) and Incarnation/St. James (Ewing).

A total of 39 awards were presented. TCA students won 22 awards, including seven first place winners. Out Lady of Sorrows students won 10 wards, two of which were first place. and students from St. Paul’s of Burlington took home four awards, two being first place.
