Eagle Scout candidate Colan Magill is set to spend the month of November completing his Eagle Scout project at the Historic White Hill Mansion in Fieldsboro.

Magill chose to complete a much needed repair on the mansion. He will be replacing an outside basement door that will secure the building and prevent the pipes from freezing, an issue that nearly caused a major problem at White Hill last winter. Magill will also install stairs leading up from the basement in order to meet the building’s egress requirement.

Magill first began work on the project on Nov. 2, and is set to continue every weekend for the next three weeks.

White Hill Mansion is a pre-revolutionary war home that is listed on the State of New Jersey’s Register of Historic Places. Its history also includes advances in printing, pottery and medicine.
