Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Church set to hold open house

Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Church is set to hold an open house on March 30 in honor of the 212th birthday of Dorothea Dix and its own 20th anniversary.

The open house will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. with a special service to honor Dorothea Dix.

There will also be a presentation by Dr. Michael Skelly titled “Compassion in Action: Life and Good Works of Dorothea Dix.”

He will tell how Dorothea Dix went from growing up in a troubled family to championing the humane treatment of the mentally ill.

Dr. Skelly is a historian and the Executive Director of Bordentown Heritage.

Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Church is located at 39 Park Street, Bordentown.
