Youth field hockey program open to boys and girls

USA Field Hockey’s FUNdamentals is set to return this fall.

Ocean Atlantic Field Hockey Association’s youth field hockey program is for boys and girls in two age groups; six to 11 and 12 to 14.

Tracey Arndt, head of field hockey at Princeton Day School and retired USA Women’s National Team member is set to lead the program with and Cristopher Maloney, former member of USA Men’s National Squad and author of Field Hockey Understanding the Game.

Sessions are scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. from Sept. 7 to Oct. 26 at the turf field at Princeton Day School, Great Road, Princeton. Practices are held rain or shine.

The program costs $125 per person and includes an OAFHA reversible pinnie, backsack and hockey ball. OAFHA has loaner sticks available.

Players must provide their own mouth guard and shin guards and should dress in sneakers and athletic clothing. Goggles and helmets are not allowed.
