Young Musicians are Region Bound

Thirty-three students from Community and Grover middle schools have been selected for the Region II Intermediate Band and Orchestra. The WW-P students competed against musicians in grades 6 to 9 from six counties in central New Jersey. The students will attend six rehearsals and perform a concert at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School, Merriwood Drive, Bridgewater, on Sunday, March 7, at 3 p.m. In addition, Stephanie Ding, was accepted into the Percussion Ensemble and will perform in a concert Saturday, February. 27, at 4 p.m., at Hammarskjold Middle School, Rues Lane, East Brunswick. The Community Middle School students include Eddy Lee, Cello, seventh grade; Andrew Ma, cello, seventh grade; Stephanie Ding, mallet percussion, sixth grade; Rohith Sivakumar, violin, eighth grade; Anny Fan, piccolo, eighth grade; Tessa Berger, alto saxophone, eighth grade; Manroocha Singh, bassoon, eighth grade; Emma Fleming, oboe, eighth grade; Emily Hung, French horn, sixth grade; Michael Leung, tenor saxophone, eighth grade; and Raymond Zhang, violin, sixth grade.

Also, Alan Wang, double bass, eighth grade; Zaibo Wang, violin, sixth grade; Soyeong Park, violin, also concertmistress, seventh grade; Ross Chapman, trombone, eighth grade; Ivan Soler, viola, eighth grade; Ji Go Lee, cello, eighth grade; Brian Chan, violin, eighth grade; Bethany Tsai, flute, eighth grade; Shubhra Paradkar, violin, eighth grade; Jamie Sung, flute, eighth grade; Avi Bagchi, viola, eighth grade; Jason Wang, cello, eighth grade; and Morven Chin, trumpet, eighth grade.

The Grover Middle School students include Naina Sahrawat, bass, eighth grade; Dan Gleim, baritone saxophone, seventh grade; Raymond Fan, cello, eighth grade; Brian Hurh, flute, eighth grade; Victoria Xu, French horn, sixth grade; Brian Yee, bass, eighth grade; Mercy Soong, viola, eighth grade; Penny Luan, violin, eighth grade; and Matthew Wong, violin, seventh grade
